Futurotextiles 7 : Amazing Fashion Design & Art
15 Nov 2024
Eighteen years after its first edition in 2006, and having traversed several cities worldwide, textiles make a return to Tripostal in 2024 with Textimoov!, the sixth edition of Futurotextiles, covering 6000 square meters. In a new era with fresh inventions, habits may have changed, but engineers and creators remain pioneers, shaping the world of tomorrow.
Completely new and intended for a wide audience, the exhibition showcased the latest discoveries and trends in textiles globally, with a focus on France, the Hauts-de-France region, the Métropole Européenne de Lille, and our belgian neighbors. It crossed the most recent scientific technological innovations with artistic creation in all its forms.

This new edition of Futurotextiles will be connected with the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.
Sport, as an actor and source of innovation, will link the artistic and scientific world to that of the company.
Sport and innovation are intimately linked. The first offers a wide field of expression to the second to optimize the performance of the professional or amateur athlete and provide even more comfort. From ancestral know-how to new high-tech practices, the exploratory field is immense.
lille3000 imagined an exhibition with a futuristic scenography. Le Tripostal has been divided into three levels.
Ground floor
An open space in perpetual motion, accessible free of charge, immerses visitors in a streetwear, urban universe. A Pop!Corner will host emerging fashion schools from the region.
1st floor
Activewear has its place in performance sport. Upcycling, recycling, technical textiles, the latest composite sports accessories and the most improbable outfits devised by visionary designers
come one after another.
2nd floor
The visitor is taken on a journey to the future. Travelling to the future, they are transported to the Moon and Mars, where habitat and clothing, modes of communication and transport, with the omnipresence of textiles, are intertwined.

Futurotextiles is a series of exhibitions designed by lille3000 that have been travelling the world since 2006 in a variety of forms to showcase the wealth of new textiles. In 2015, Textifood, a Futurotextiles module focusing on micro-organisms from the agri-food sector that develop textile materials, was presented at the Universal Exhibition in Milan. Then, lille3000 designed Textidream / Futurotextiles 5, which was presented in autumn 2021 on the esplanade of the French Pavilion at the Dubai 2020 World Expo.
After being exhibited in Dubai in 2020 for the Universal Exhibition, 3 capsules will be available for Textimoov! in the Shopping Centre of our partner Westifield Euralille.
Cosmos Capsule
In an interstellar setting, some high-performance textiles used for spacewalks are highlighted here.
On loan from La Cité de l’Espace (FR), the SOKOL-KV2 spacesuit, a replica of the one carried by Thomas Pesquet to the International Space Station for the Proxima mission in 2017, protects the astronaut during the active phases of Soyuz flight (takeoff, rendezvous, return to Earth). It ensures survival in case of depressurization.
This «scratched» model of the European ARIANE 5 launcher, lent by CNES (FR) makes it possible to recall the missions.
Lux Capsule
An electric laboratory on the theme of light and textile comes to life in this capsule to the rhythm of a choreography of luminous pulsations that bring to life the Lux dress created by the famous fashion house On Aura Tout Vu (FR).
A dress with moon reflections accompanied by a fun little monster highlights the French know-how of haute-couture and new technologies in collaboration with French companies.
Mobility Capsule
An imaginary landscape in the form of a spiral towards infinity presents two prototypes in bio-based flax composite, made by the company MDI Prod (FR) in partnership with Van Robaeys (FR): Green’Air and AirLight.
The cart dedicated to golf or tourist complexes Green’Air is a prototype being marketed incorporating innovations both in terms of a compressed air engine and a linen composite body.
